Counselling is a space where you can explore and find a sense of purpose within major life events. It is a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can navigate what life might be asking of you in this moment. I help clients feel and process through difficult emotions and experiences. I draw from and integrate various frameworks such as: Existential, Spiritual, Depth Psychology, Somatic, Family Systems and Anti-Oppression.
Counselling vs. Psychotherapy
Counselling is different from psychotherapy as it does not address severe underlying mental health conditions and mood disorders. Counselling is suited for folks who have a pull towards self awareness and self exploration.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling is a place where you and your partner can deepen your connection to each other. It's never just about the sock on the floor or the dishes in the sink but the perpectives behind these gestures. What might seem like a harmless glass left on the kitchen counter to one partner, can feel like an invasion to the other. Together we can build healthier connection and understanding. It's not that we have to avoid arguments with our partners but to recognize the fight is a bid for closeness and connection.
How Counselling Works
The process of counselling would begin by booking an initial consultation to see if we might be a suitable fit to work together. If we do move forward together, we then meet for sessions regularly, either weekly or bi-weekly.
In the sessions, clients may explore concerns such as anxiety, stress, relationship challenges and life transitions. Our work is collaborative and tailored to your goals, pace, and personal background. Depending on your needs, sessions may blend talk with somatic techniques to help you build emotional regulation, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with a sense of safety.
